LJM Racing, Mixed Results @ Perth Motorplex: The LJM Racing team had mixed results at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night for round 12 of the AHG Sprintcar Points Series. First out to time trial was Brad Maiolo in the #77 LJM/APB/Ausquip/J&J and he timed in 4th position with a 14.641 time, followed by Jamie in 6th position with a 14.683, the top 14 cars were all only separated by 4 100s of a second. Brads Maiolo’s night on the track was up & down , in his heat races Brad in heat 1 started in 9th position & finished in 10th place, Heat 2 start 10th & suffered a DNF. Those results gave Brad a 15th starting position in the final, after the lap 13 carnage which caused a few cars to head infield, Brad was up to second position at one stage only to have the yellows come on again due to a car spinning, He went back to his position For Jamie it was a night of mixed results, a great time trial set him up for good heat race starts, in heat 1 Jamie started out of 8th position & finished 4th, Heat 2 Jamie was out of 7th & finished 5th setting him up for a solid 3rd row start in the final. That’s where the good fortune ended for Jamie Maiolo, mechanical dramas ended his run forward in the feature race and another chance to consolidate the points for the AHG sprintcar championship. With the big guns in town over the next month, im sure the LJM team will bounce back & one of the Maiolo cars will be standing tall on the dais. LJM Racing will head to Kalgoorlie International Speedway on Wednesday night for the start of the western swing & World Series Sprintcars, from there the boys will run Bunbury City Speedway on Friday & Saturday nights, Manjimup Speedway on Wednesday night the 16th of Feb followed by the WSS grand Final on the 18th & 19th @ Perth Motorplex.
