LJM On Top At The Muster:
Release 3/1/2011 - BCM
Again it was the #99 JLM Racing car of Jamie Maiolo that challenged for the lead deep into the sprintcar A main at the Perth Motorplex last night, it seems to be routine now that Jamie Maiolo finds the set up & speed required to be there at the end challenging for a podium result.
To start the night out, the Perth Motorplex Sprintcar Muster due to the high car count was running a different format so qualifying was out for this event & back to old fashion heat race results.
Jamie Maiolo in the #99 LJM/APB Produce/Maxwill/J&J produce consistent results & finished his heat races in a good position to set himself up for the main event, Heat 1 Jamie finished in second position & heat 2 took the win convincingly which gave Jamie the pole for the final.
For Brad Maiolo in the #77 LJM/Ausquip/Maxwill/J&J his night was tougher, plenty of speed and just a lot of in the wrong place at the wrong time not being able to get a clear break he finished with a pair of threes in each heat race, giving brad a second row starting position. The highlight for Brad was in heat 2 where the official deemed Brad being the pole car that he jumped the start & sent him ROF only to come from the back like a freight train and finished in 3rd, an awesome drive from the young charger.
A few restarts again at the start of the feature saw the entire field of Sprintcars come to a red light stoppage due to accidents, they finally got away for a start & Jamie got the jump from Wells & headed out for the 30 lap race distance, the field was back to yellows a few times for minor spins, but the trouble for Brad Maiolo was mid race distance when on the restart another race accident left Brad with nowhere to go & he was forced to the infield finished for the nights proceedings, for Jamie Maiolo is was full steam ahead dueling with Mark Wells & Sartori with a late charge to see who would become the Perth Motorplex Sprintcar Muster winner, Jamie found some late speed & challenged Wellsy for the lead with three to go & looked like he was going to pull it off, but the #99 hit a rut in turn two unsettling the car, he found his composure & brought it home in second place & again showed why Jamie Maiolo is one of the west’s best Sprintcar drivers.
LJM can’t wait for the WSS rounds in WA.
